Haven of Peace Academy is a co-educational Christian international day school with over 300 pupils aged from 5-18, located on a site overlooking the Indian Ocean. Its mission is to provide an excellent, Christ-centred, international education that meets western academic standards and equips students to live out a biblical worldview in all areas of life. It caters principally for the children of Christian workers but also attracts other expat families and Tanzanians, of other faiths or none. The curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum, preparing children for IGCSE, AS and A Levels. Teaching staff are partially self-supporting overseas volunteers. HOPAC does provide volunteer teachers with a monthly living allowance that covers a significant portion of in-country expenses.
